Your tour starts with a 45-minute drive by along the Western Highway from Belize City, your guide will point out interesting facts about the area and Belizean history.  Upon arrival at Peccary Hills National Park on the Sibun River, your tour guide will brief you on kayak handling and river safety.  Climb aboard a two-man kayak and begin your river adventure,  you may be able to sneak up on basking crocodiles and iguanas, or see turtles and view a wide variety of exotic birds.  After kayaking, your guide takes you on a short tour highlighting flora of medicinal importance.  Belize has a long history of “bush medicine” and jungle remedies passed down from our Maya and African heritage. These traditions still play an important role in rural Belize. Refreshments are provided at Peccary Park.

A portion of the proceeds from this tour is paid to the Gracie Rock Reserve for Adventure Culture and Ecotourism, a Belizean NGO with responsibility for the conservation management of the Peccary Hills National Park and the social development of the Gracie Rock Community, located within the Peccary Hills National Park.  Members of the Gracie Rock community have been trained as guides and participate on all tours within the Park.
