Depart Belize City by motor coach to Peccary Park in the nearby village of Gracie Rock. Peccary Park is set in the rainforest and rolling hills of this quaint village once inhabited by the Maya and in later years by Colonial loggers. Here you will enjoy a snack and have leisure time for a swim in the refreshing waters of the Sibun River. You then board “The Crock”, our amphibious vehicle, for a leisurely tour of rainforest trails, caves once inhabited by the Maya, jungle rivers and swamps to arrive at the Northern Lagoon Beach. Here you will have a little leisure time before boarding river boats back to the Belize City docks. This tour is ideal for viewing wildlife in natural habitats – be on the lookout for various bird species and monkey overhead.
A portion of the proceeds from this tour is paid to the Gracie Rock Reserve for Adventure Culture and Ecotourism, a Belizean NGO with responsibility for the conservation management of the Peccary Hills National Park and the social development of the Gracie Rock Community, located within the Peccary Hills National Park. Members of the Gracie Rock community have been trained as guides and participate on all tours within the Park. |
